Ode to Pinterest

Just a quick peek, I tell myself

Just a quick glance to see what’s new

Next thing I know I’ve been looking at a million and one things

All in the span of an hour or two

Seriously, who else is addicted to this magical new site called Pinterest? For those who are not familiar with it, it’s basically an online pin board–users post (or “pin”) the various things (articles, photos, blog posts, etc.) they come across on the Internet that they find interesting and think others will find interesting as well. Sounds simple enough, right? Doesn’t sound that revolutionary, does it?

Except It. Is. Addicting.

First of all, look at how pretty the site itself is. The design is simple and elegant, with the majority of the focus on the stunning photos that come from the things people are sharing. You can see where I’m going with this, right?

Yes, FOOD plays a big role on Pinterest. There’s a whole category just for Food & Drink, and as I’ve discovered all too quickly, it is far too easy to spend copious amounts of time perusing the gorgeous pictures of cakes and muffins and cookies and savory dishes. I’ve picked up three recipes in the last 5 minutes alone that I’ve been writing this post.

Oh, Pinterest. You had me at hello.
